What Brought Me Here: Why I Started This Blog

Hello Reader! Welcome to my first ever blog post. I’m excited – and nervous – to dive into this creative endeavor with you.

There is a great quote from the movie Hope Floats that reads, “Beginnings are usually scary, and endings are usually sad, but it’s everything in between that makes it all worth living.” I really enjoy this quote, because it allows us to appreciate all the goodness found in life’s in-betweens. The story of our lives and our universe is encompassed mostly by the experiences we have in the middle of it and all the mini beginnings and endings along the way. So, I invite you to come on this journey with me. We will travel the winding path of knowledge together and discover new things about ourselves and the world around us. Sometimes it will be fun, other times it will be scientific, serious, or emotional. But every time, it will be worth it.

So how did I end up starting a blog? Honestly, it’s a mix of things. I’ve experienced a small slice of what life has to offer, but I know there’s so much more ahead — more to learn, more to question, more to feel. As I grow, I thought it might be meaningful to share my reflections along the way — not just for myself, but maybe to encourage others in their own journeys too.

After graduating college, I found myself craving a creative outlet — a space to express myself thoughtfully and openly. Writing has always helped me untangle what I’m feeling, especially during hard moments. It still does. This blog is my way of keeping that habit alive while connecting with anyone who might need it, too.

I want this to be a safe space for self discovery, personal growth, reflection, and expanding the intellectual mindset. For me, this is where I will write about some of the things that are floating around my mind on any given day. It is the opportunity to study and learn more science and share my love for this subject with others. I want to reflect on how I propel myself to be a become better through experiences old and new. I will touch on mental health and why it is so important. Finally, I want to learn to step out of my bubble every once in a while, whether that is just writing a new blog entry for others to read or doing something outside of my comfort zone.

For you, dear reader, I hope this becomes a space where you feel encouraged to connect, think, and feel freely. A space that is safe, nonjudgmental, and grounded in growth. Most importantly, progress — not perfection — will always be what is valued here.

That being said, you can expect to see a range of topics here, from personal essays on healing, growth, mental health, and identity, to questions about science and reflections on travel. Feel free to connect with what resonates, and simply leave the rest. Thank you for taking the time to read my first entry. I hope you’ll choose to stick around, explore the site a bit, and read more of my posts. Feel free to reach out via email if you want to share your thoughts, are craving a deeper connection, or just want to say hi!
